Applying For
Financial Assistance
The Private School Aid Service
(PSAS)
Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran School
2008-09 School Year
The Private
School Assistance Service (PSAS) provides an assessment service to nearly
2,700 non-public schools all over the country. The PSAS evaluation will provide
Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran School with a baseline comparison of need among the
families that apply. Then a decision will be made by the School Ministry Finance
Board and communicated with each family.
The application
must be completed in
order to be considered for financial assistance. The deadline for application is
May 15, 2008.
All of the information and the process are confidential between the family
and Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran School. No student will be considered for
financial assistance unless that family has completed the PSAS form and
submitted it to PSAS for assessment.
1. Every family applying for financial aid from SBLS must complete the form
and mail it, along with the
$20.00 fee, to PSAS before
May 15, 2008. No application will be processed unless the fee is enclosed.
Be sure to mail the application to PSAS at PO Box 770728, Lakewood, OH
44107-0034. Do not send applications to Suburban Bethlehem.
2. Only one application and fee are required per family. This even applies
to having children at another
school that uses PSAS, like
Concordia High School.
3. All information sent to PSAS is confidential. We will only get a
recommendation of need report from
PSAS..
4. Complete all questions and be sure to include your W-2s and form 1040
that apply to your family
income.
5. WE ALSO REQUIRE YOU TO FILL OUT OUR OWN SUBURBAN BETHLEHEM FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE FORM. THAT FORM
GETS RETURNED TO MR. BRUNE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE SCHOOL MINISTRY WILL
NOT BE ABLE TO FINISH THE ASSISTANCE PROCESS WITHOUT THIS FORM BEING IN OUR
HANDS.
6. If you have any questions about the process or your application,
contact Mr. Brune at 483-9371.
Families are encouraged to complete the PSAS process as early as possible.
Determination of need will be made approximately 4 weeks after the postmark date
on your application.
Delaying the application
process may impact the amount of assistance available.
